As far as I can see from the DMC website DMC currently only make one
linen thread - that's the Mouline linen floss which is in skeins just
like skeins of cotton embroidery .
I'm not sure what you mean by "coning to use it in lace".

advertises DMC threads which the company has put into skeins
themselves from large cones of the thread. That will be the same size
in skeins or from the cone, so I guess the answer is Yes it is the
same, but no I haven't seen any of it.
