Hi Everyone,
I'd like to pass on a bit of information that has made a big difference in
my life.
I have a number of medical problems which include diabetes, heart, spine and
a few others. So I take a lot of medications and injections all day long.
I was getting fed up as nothing was really doing any good. One day when I
went to get some prescriptions refilled there was a new gal working there.
She went over my list (a big one) and started asking me questions about what
I took when and with what other medications. Well, she started telling me
that I couldn't take iron pills at the same time I took calcium pills and
that I couldn't take this pill at the same time I took another, etc.. I was
so confused, so I wrote down some of what she was telling me. I then made a
list of every medication I took, prescription and over the counter, even if
I only took one pill a week. Then I made another list of when I took each
and every pill. Took these two lists to my doctor and we sat down and
reworked my time schedule of when I took each pill. Yes, it did take some
time. Took it back to my pharmacist and now I have a set time of when each
pill can be taken without any medication causing another medication to "not"
work or have as much effect as it should. You can't believe what a
difference it has made. Before I could hardly walk or stand up for more
than a few minutes. I still can't run any foot races but it has made a
world of difference in how I feel.
I would advice anyone that takes a lot of medications to go over your list
with a pharmacist and your doctor. You may be taking medications together
that are keeping each other from doing their job properly.
Just wanted to pass on some thing that is helping me.
