I just phoned the V & A museum in London about this and have this information for Devon and for anyone else interested in the future. They do have some lace in the textille department, rooms 98-100 (was told 2 or 3 cases plus some pull out drawers). I also asked, in case anyone else might be interested, if there were any special pieces or stored lace that could be viewed by special appointment. The answer was yes there is, but possibly not at weekends, but the lady in the department didn't add that bit when she told me it can be viewed by appointment but they are currently prebooked until January!!!! So suggestions for Devon, is to check again just before you are due to visit (remind me and I could do it for you if you like) and anyone else could prebook to view the extra lace with 12 weeks notice (although January does seem much more than 12 weeks away).

I hope that helps and answers all your questions.

I will be in London at the end of September, only on a weekend. Does anyone know if the lace room at the V & A is currently open? I have heard that there is a massive renovation going on and wonder if it is having an impact on lace viewing. Are there any other lace viewing opportunities going on in London at that time?
