When winding your bobbins, rotate the bobbin around it own axis. Don't let the bobbin make circles aound the fingers that guide the thread. Better for threads too, they could either wrinkle or untwist, the latter cause breking. Many lacemakers also use hairdressing butterfly clams instead of the slipping knot.
