I don't know where Francis has stayed in Denmark, but I have spent 4
vacations there and found some delightful hotels / guest houses with
excellent food. I have not stayed in Tønder though. Try googling for inns or
kros near Tønder. (Kro is the Danish word for inn, and they tend to have a
lot more character than the modern hotel chains)
I prefer showers to baths, so have no comment on the latter's availability.
I have also found the weather to be delightful in Denmark summers - not too
different from England, but sometimes considerably warmer.
