Hi Sue,

My Christmas card for the exchange this year uses Torchon ground but is on a 52
degree grid. I needed to work at that degree to get the correct shape for my
design. I see nothing wrong in manipulating the grid if it improves the design.

I was also sorry to see the news about the Kantcentrum. I was lucky enough to
visit them when I persuaded DH to do a side trip when we were on a business
trip to Brussels. I also managed to buy a cookie pillow from the shop and get
it back home on the airlines even though it would not fit in the overhead or
under the seat. I remember on one of the flights home that I held it behind my
legs in the seat, it was not obvious to the flight attendant as I covered my
legs with the provided blanket. I also did not say it was full of "grass" when
I went through customs. :-) Pity, I probably will never get back to Brugge
again.

<I have been making lots of torchon lace since 2001, but whilst playing with
the design program the other day I brought up a bauble pattern I had made up
and then messed about changing the grid angle, just to see what would
happen.
I changed the grid size a couple of times, but found the 52 made a good
visual change to the bauble, but if I made it like that it would still be
better in torchon type stitches rather than the point ground (because of the
stitches involved throughout).

Do any of you construct torchon in any other than 45 degree angle, or does
this then become wrong?>
