My name is Birgitte Tessier and I am the current president of The
<http://www.piedmontlace.org/> Piedmont Lace Guild of Virginia. We are a
small guild, established in 2006 "to promote and preserve the knowledge and
appreciation of the fine art of lacemaking." The guild is centered in
Fauquier County, Virginia, approx. 50 miles southwest of Washington DC. We
aim to serve lacemakers in the Piedmont area, south and west of Washington
DC/Northern Virginia.

If any of the readers of the lace list are located in this area of Virginia,
we would be very happy to meet you and have you join us. Upcoming events
include a guild demo and presentation at the Culpeper Women's Club on 11
March (open to the public), a visit to the Valentine Richmond History Center
for a "Collections Up-Close" (costume and textiles) program on 23 March, a
Beginning Flanders Workshop in early April, and a visit to the Smithsonian
lace collection on 22 April. Please visit our website at
www.piedmontlace.org for more information, or you may contact me at
[email protected] or our vice president, Margaret Campbell, at
[email protected].

Happy lacemaking!

Birgitte Tessier
