I am currently playing around with patterns to work a wedding veil which I hope to start soon. What I have in mind is something that will work up fast because the idea is that most of it (if not all) will be lace and I am looking at a 150cm diameter circle. I would like to use a pure silk thread that will be equivalent to a 30 or 40 linen or close and I do need this in ivory or cream - preferably ivory because then whatever the girls decide to wear (i.e. white or cream) then I think it will blend in nicely. Can any of you offer any advice please. I have looked at Threads for Lace and tried to source some of the threads that come in close enough thicknesses from the web but cannot seem to take any decisions because I don't really want to purchase lots of cones before I finally find the right quality or colour to work with. I thought perhaps some of you may have experienced various threads and can offer suggestions.
