Hi all, I would like your views. Though I am a supplier this is not promoting any thing I sell but I think Lace makers need to express an opinion on. The people who make many of the pins in the world have been looking for a long time at the problem of brass pins tarnishing. they tell me they are
I agree with Clay, the plating would wear off. Also plating would thicken the pins. Some 'white plated brass pins' were introduced some years ago and the size was stated as the unplated dimension - but they were definitely thicker. As I make fine Bucks I use the finest pins I can find - even the fine Duchess (the earlier finer ones) when I am using 160/2 Egyptian cotton. So plating would not help me.
