Hello! May I add 2 cents? I haven't the foggiest idea about the Sunday
Edition broadcast but I purchased "hand made" lace in LaBourboule & in Brioude
about 10yrs ago before I started making lace. My roommate & I bought a large
rectangle (intended as a placemat?), that had not yet been "installed" on
linen. We cut it in half so we could use if for crazy quilting & each of us
got 2 nice corners, a long leg & a short leg. We also bought various yardage,
both insertions & edgings. I wouldn't cut up lace today, but at the time
everybody was happy, even the lacemaker who got PAID! Upon my return to the
US, friends looked at my stash & remarked that the lacemaker(s) had made many
1000s of leaves! It seems to me that there are lacemakers still working for
the couturier industry & at a price commensurate with the work product. There
is always a market for beautiful things. Susan, in Erie, PA
