This is no lacemaking object. It's a child's puzzle. I bought one for my children many years ago but it was made of wood. The idea is that you have to get both beads together on the same part of the string. Oh yes, it can be done ( if you have an hour or two to spare.) I can't find it at the moment or I would scan it.
