That's a nice pattern. The pattern would also work as a bookmark.
At the
bottom point all the pairs could be made into a long braid with a
tassel. It
is also a good beginner's pattern: it has a place to end, a place to
start,
left curves and right curves for turning stitches on both sides and
sewings.
A student could work it once right side up and once upside down to
deal with
hanging on and adding pairs or removing pairs.
Tape is such fun to design.
