Hello Jean
I too received one of these magazines from this organisation called "Lace in
Flanders", a not for profit organization (this is the vzw bit behind the
name).
I think I put my name down somewhere to receive a free copy, but cannot
remember where.
Their aim is promotion of the Flemish lace heritage, and they have
identified a need for the training of lace experts to pass on their
knowledge to future generations.
To achieve this, they are starting training of lace teachers in Autumn 2010
(which will be modular in its setup).
They are not trying to belittle training available at the moment, but
believe theirs to be complimentary.
At the end of June "Kant in Vlaanderen vzw, will be accredited by Unesco as
an expert organisation as far as immaterial lace heritage is concerned.
This is an abbreviated translation of the text on page 3.
The rest ar articles about lace and exhibitions.
Membership is 18euros in Belgium, 23euros in Europe and 26euros outside of
Europe.
Any other questions, please ask.

Subject: [lace] Strange magazine received
I have received a magazine, presumably from Belgium, and I don't know why.
It's a sort of beigy colour and the front cover has a square box at the
top left containing 'Kant in Vlaanderen', and the word Filum at the bottom
of the front cover. The magazine is written in "foreign", with no English
translation, so I have no idea what any of it says. The list of contact
names on the inside front cover are Lydia Mertens, Helena Fransens,
Marijke Mannaerts, Brigitte Croes, Monique Saquet and Marie-Rose Delahaye
all with email addresses @kantinvlaanderen.be.
I did subscribe to 'Kant' magazine a few years back, but stopped about 4
years ago. This is nothing like that magazine - it just has articles I
can't read and photographs. Anyone know what it's all about?
