So are they going to be for sale on ebay? I so wish the reserve would not be so high. You are right about the exchange rate problem between the US and the UK. I have admired alot of things over the years that I would have love to purchase...but there is such a gap between our money here and the money in the UK that I can't usually afford anything too much. Even postage from the UK to the states is high sometimes.
I don't have an income really I babysit my Grandkids...but I could squeeze some money to buy maybe one bobbin. But I see how much some bobbins go for on ebay and I can't even get those because when you start talking over $20.00 for a bobbin and that doesn't include postage...it is then out of my range and something I can't justify myself in buying when everything else is tight here. I know there are people that have the money and the bidding will go out of sight for the bobbins. I can understand that of coarse Christine and David would like to get the most money they can for the bobbins...I just wish some of us that don't have deep pocketbooks can at least be able to buy one at a reasonable price. If a bobbin is like $50.00.....there is NO WAY I could buy the bobbin and I would be here at home...wishing I could. I should imagine they will be selling them individually which I'm sure is the best plan as trying to sell, what is left of, the large collection in one lot would not realise its true value! The timing of the Kerry Taylor auctions was not good as at that time the exchange rate was poor for foreign bidders, so many of the lots never reached their high reserve.
