The place that I was thinking about was Queyras. I have found a source if a
few pictures. Thanks for all of you who gave me such good pointers.
I need to tell you that my first attempt at the article was "woeful" so it
has gone on the back burner for a while.
If any of you want to ply me with information abut chip carved/hand whittled
bobbins I will soak it up ready for my next try!
I managed a reasonable attempt at "Scrimshaw" on East Devon bobbins though,
so the evening was not a total failure.
