How to spangle with beading wire ("tiger tail") and crimp beads:
Hints:
DO NOT cut the beading wire off the spool until you are ready to thread it
through the bobbin.
If you have very small spangling holes in your bobbins, you will either need
to use the finest beading wire or need to enlarge your holes.
1. On the beading wire, string a crimp bead, then the spangling beads in
order, then another crimp bead.
2. Thread the end of the beading wire through the spangle hole in the bobbin;
then through the other crimp bead and the next bead or two.
3. Cut the wire from the spool, leaving 3"-4".
4. Thread the newly-cut end through the spangle hole; then through the other
crimp bead and the next bead or two.
5. Adjust the wire until the crimp beads are positioned next to the bobbin,
not too close or the spangle won't move freely and not too far or the spangle
will look funny (when you do it, you will see what I mean)
6. Crimp the beads. Trim the ends of the wire close to the nearest bead.
It takes a bit of practice to get the spangling right. I prefer crimp tubes
to crimp beads (I just think they are easier to use). I will usually do a
dozen or so at a time. I bead all the spangles onto the wire on the spool and
then cut them off as I attach them to the bobbin.
Please let me know if these instructions do not make sense.
Happy spangling!
