I have just come back from Owen Sound, Ontario, where the local small group of lacemakers was joined by others from "away"--from southern Ontario, New Brunswick, me from Maine, and perhaps others whose names I didn't catch or can't remember just now. It was a lovely group of perhaps twenty women, meeting in the newly restored Victorian house of one of the lacemakers, and featuring not only things to buy, freebies, and good company, but a very ample and delicious buffet lunch. I was there at just the right time: I was helping to celebrate the wedding of my grandson to a lovely Canadian girl, and the meeting was held on the very afternoon when nothing much had been scheduled. Lucky me!

If anyone is interested in contacting the group to find out when they meet and where and how and with whom, you could write to Johanna Brown at <[email protected]>, who is the organizer of the group.
