OK. So as I see it, it was the extraordinary popularity of the Kiwanis Club that was to blame. I hope you were able to figure out how it had increased its membership so spectacularly in this day and age when group joining (especially lace groups) seems to be on the wane. No one could say you didn't do everything you could to prevent disaster. However, priorities are certainly in the right place when you manage to write a speech about lace, attend a lace meeting, start a beginner, convert a new lacemaker, demonstrate and expose lace to the general public an hour away from your house all at once. You deserve an award for all this lace promotion, or perhaps a Gold Zot. :-) Devon
