I find that when I'm in a workshop, I'm distracted by the activity and
sounds around me, so I load my iPod Touch with music and listen to it
while I'm making lace. It masks the sounds around me and I can stay
better focused. There is an app for a clock which includes a timer.
You can set it for 30 minutes so you'll remember to get up and move
around and stretch the back.
I have a conversion app on my ipod, so I can quickly convert metric
measurements to inches or feet, and when I'm considering a purchase
(international), I can easily compute the cost in US dollars. And for
those yummy recipes that sometimes show up on Chat, I can convert the
metric measures into volumes and weights I am familiar with.
The potential for maintaining a list of books is definitely a good one.
Also you have the added ability to check your emails for things from the
list if you happen to be in a WiFi area... or you could quickly send an
email to someone before it slips your mind.

I would like to know if anyone uses their iTouch for any aspect of lacemaking?
