I took a fan class from Louise Colgan. She had us make flour paste by mixing a
bit of fine pure wheat flour with water (I'd have to look up the amounts but it
was very small), heat it in a microwave before using. The purpose of using
flour paste is that it's water soluble. If I ever want to remove the lace from
the sticks, they just need to get very wet and the paste comes right off.

I'm sure this has probably been asked before but I have searched the archives
and been unable to find anything. I am hoping someone out there will be able to
advise.

I have a student who is about to mount a lace fan. We have read through
Christine Springetts instruction book and she mentions using wallpaper paste as
the adhesive. Bearing in mind this was written back in the eighties I was
wondering what the current thinking was on this and are there any other
adhesives that I should be looking at in preference to wallpaper paste?

Any advice would be gratefully received
