I took a fan class from Louise Colgan. She had us make flour paste by mixing a bit of fine pure wheat flour with water (I'd have to look up the amounts but it was very small), heat it in a microwave before using. The purpose of using flour paste is that it's water soluble. If I ever want to remove the lace from the sticks, they just need to get very wet and the paste comes right off.
Alice in Oregon ----- Original Message ----- I'm sure this has probably been asked before but I have searched the archives and been unable to find anything. I am hoping someone out there will be able to advise. I have a student who is about to mount a lace fan. We have read through Christine Springetts instruction book and she mentions using wallpaper paste as the adhesive. Bearing in mind this was written back in the eighties I was wondering what the current thinking was on this and are there any other adhesives that I should be looking at in preference to wallpaper paste? Any advice would be gratefully received Claire Allen Kent, UK www.bonitocrafts.co.uk Crafty stuff I want to show off. - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected].
