[lace] Cabled Gimp

I hope my knowledgable Arachne friends can help.  I've just come across an 
instruction that says "The gimp is cabled" which has defeated me.  I can't 
find anything about this in any of my books or on-line.  I've found one 
post in the Archives, but am not sure if this is what I need.  So, how do I 
cable a gimp?
