<Question for Catherine. Was all the background netting on the Snow Queen> <picture done by hand or was it machine made? It looks too perfect to be by > <hand.
Hi Janice Yes it is hand worked but I did find it difficult as the length of thread required to work from one side to other is so long, and tends to twist back on itself into infuriating tight little knots. I originally began working the net horizontally, starting from the top but after only 2 or 3 rows I was ready to give up (it is A4 size)! I then thought perhaps I could work it diagonally and started from the top left hand corner, which was much easier and the longest stretch of net ground without any anchorage point, is from the left-hand side running between the castle and up to the belly of the reindeer, which was a far shorter stretch than horizontally. Don't give up with the net stitch, just keep going - it will improve with practice!
