Hello All!  Thanks Bev for the update on "Iris".  Sorry to hear about its 
demise.  While I understand the dilemma facing the thread companies, 
reducing/consolidating product lines doesn't always equate to an increase in 
sales in the "substitute" product line because, in fact, there are often NO 
suitable substitutes.  One possible alternative that I haven't seen mentioned 
here--flat silk.  It comes in a bazillion colors & can be made any thickness & 
any twist that is desired.  This is not suitable for large quantities, but 
could be useful in a pinch.  Japanese Embroidery Center in Atlanta, GA will 
ship abroad but cannot process online orders; print the online form then snail 
mail only.  Usual disclaimers, no connection, just a satisfied customer.  I 
must mention that treating your hands 1st is a must when working with flat
