Alex, In reading the caption I get the impression that Mr. Wright is saying that stocking fronts in general were used in Queen Elizabeth's day. I don't think that Mr. Wright means that these particular stocking fronts are that old. They certainly don't look like the kind of lace that was being made asnd worn in the 1500's.
