Dear Fellow Lace-Makers, I am planning to design and work a wedding veil in bobbin lace for my daughters and niece to wear if they ever get married - if not it will just be a family heirloom (I hope).
My idea is to make this a 1.5 metre circle and to start working in bands from the outside in. You may ask why "from the outside in". Well, my reasoning is that if I don't get to the end of it, I would have an outer circle worked and I will just mount this onto tulle. You may ask why "in bands" and the idea is that it will be manageable, fast and portable. So the question is this: How do I calculate the outer circle size and the size of the grid for that circle? - I can work on a torchon grid. How do I then calculate the sizes of the inner circles as I move inwards? I'm sure someone out there is clever enough to help me out. Thanks, Karen in Malta (where it's rather warm tonight as it's blowing from the South). - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected].
