When I learnt my typing and shorthand skills at  business college many, many
years ago, the first thing we were told was that we should *never* proof
read our own work....we see what we think we've typed, not what's actually
on the page.

I sympathise Brian. Any author will tell you that the first thing you see
when your new book comes out is a mistake, and it annoys you ever after. We
all make mistakes. When someone makes the same mistake I have made myself  I
