Dear Lacemakers, Today, I have been watching the presentations of copies of Jacqueline Kennedy's jewelry on the QVC shopping network. Her original jewelry was usually real gems and metals, but it is now possible to buy very nice copies. As part of the presentation, it was mentioned that while she was living in the White House, her code name was "Lace"! If you are curious, you can go to _http://www.qvc.com_ (http://www.qvc.com) and type her name in the search box to see some examples of what she wore. Click on pictures and you can read more about each item and what people think of it. Her debutante jewelry (J151133 and J151134) came down through her father's family as a large suite, and at other times other pieces have been available. The main design is that of the Crystal Palace exhibition in London in 1851. It is very lacy. Perhaps someone will be inspired to replicate the design in thread? ----------------------- It is the second day of a blizzard here in Maine. It is all about snow, wind, and low temperatures. The snow is packed over four-and-one-half feet high in front of the garage doors. Eventually, a private plow will come to clear it away. The state road out front was just opened an hour ago. It is all very beautiful, but for the roaring wind. Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center
