Replying to Laurie Waters on January 2nd
In reply to your list of "books that not only would I like to see written, but that I would like to write:" I wondered if you had had realised that Angela Brown, The 'Chair' of the prestigious Lace Society ( The oldest Lace Society in the UK), has written a very interesting paper on The English Regency Lace, which was published by me last year. Her work is based on extensive research in the archives of the major lace collections in England and goes hand in hand with a contemporary feel for what the lacemaker today wishes to make. I am sure you will find it most interesting. The Regency Period is a fascinating one, especially now 200years on and Angela Brown, Sandi Woods, Joke Sinclair and myself are working on this period and will be adding booklets to this series later on this year.
