We have to remember that American English and English English aren't the same - even computers have a choice of US or UK dictionaries for spelling and definitions. There are a few differences between UK and New Zealand and Australia, but nothing like those in the US.

Fortunately most of the terms used in lacemaking are the same. Think the only different I've found is in the size of crochet hooks. For sewings I'd use a 0.4mm or 0.6 mm, but wouldn't have the foggiest what size that would be US.
