Hi Dot, The frame is amazingly beautiful. I would make a lace fan and put it between two pieces of glass (cut to size and shape) as it seems to me that there is enough space for it at the back of the frame. The difficult part will be to find a pattern that matches the space. You will probably have to make an adaptation of an existing one. Or design it yourself... which I consider much more difficult.
