This pillow has an interesting "story". It was made in the USA around the turn of the 20th century and marketed as a way for housewives to easily make extra money! The booklet that came with the pillow had instructions for few simple edgings in which the pin holes were individually numbered. Then instructions were written out which indicated what should be done at each pinhole. Looking at those instructions and the numbered pinholes would have discouraged me from trying!!

Quite a few of these pillows are still in existence, but there is no record (that I know of) of anyone becoming rich and famous by making lace!!
