Hi Jeanette

Coton Egyptien nº 80 could mean Egyptian 80/2 or Egyptian 80/3. It's the
difference between 35 wraps/cm and 50 wraps/cm which is quite a lot so you will
need to look at the pattern carefully and measure the dot spacing and/or work a
sample to see which thickness you need. See page 8 in Ed3, Ed4 or Ed5.

Cordon de lin nº 18/3 means an 18/3 linen which is probably Bockens linen.
It's an unusual choice to put a linen gimp with a cotton main thread. Often a
pearl cotton is used with a linen main thread because a linen gimp isn't
readily available, but not the other way around.

If you are having trouble obtaining either of the threads substitute Brok 60/2
or Egyptian 50/2 for the Egyptian 80/3, or if you would prefer a linen thread
use Fresia 120/2 or Bockens 120/2. Madeira Tanne/Cotona 80 measures the same
as Egyptian 80/2, and any brand of Coton Perle 5 for the gimp if you can't get
the linen.
