This message came through on the yahoo group list, which I know is much
smaller than Arachne. If there is anyone in Boise on Arachne, or anyone who
wants to teach there, perhaps they’d like to contact Vila direct

Subject: [bobbinlace] Hello from another new member

Hi

I taught myself how to make bobbin lace a few years ago. Recently, some of the
ladies in my local weaving guild asked me to share what I know. Admittedly, it
is not a lot, but we now have a study group for bobbin lace and seven more
people are now learning how to make lace.

I know there are some lacemakers here in Boise, Idaho, but I don't know how to
get in touch with them. My first question for the group is if there is anyone
here near Boise?

I am also toying with the idea of bringing in a workshop teacher for our new
little group. We have weaving workshops every year and enjoy learning from
people all over the country. Since the group is small, I'm thinking a teacher
from the west coast would be the best way to make such a workshop afordable.
So if you have any suggestions for teachers for me I would love to hear them.
I would love for lace teachers to contact me and ket me know what programs
they offer. The group is currenly learning Torchon so that is what I am
looking for.

Tonight is the fifth meeting of the study group and I will be demonstrating
rose grounds. Teaching others has improved my knowledge of lace, but I am a
little nervous that I am not a qualified teacher since I am self taught.
