You could do what I did when I was working one of my City & Guilds
pieces - go through the numbers in the various fonts on your computer
until you find a style you like. Change the setting to "outline" and
change the font size until you get the size you want. Print it out on
acetate or tracing paper, so that you can flip it over to prick your
pattern.
You can then space your pinholes to either make a narrow braid round the
edge with a filling (I did mine this way with Bedfordshire leaves as the
filling) or work a Honiton rib round the outline and use whatever
filling you want.
This way you get something that is unique, that you like, and is the
exact size you want it to be without needing adjustment.

Since I wanted to do a
big
5 and an 0 for an anniversary gift, I am asking for help in finding
numbers to
lace. Type of lace can be varied between torchon, Bucks, tape,
Beds, Honiton,
Milanese, Brugge.
