Dang I get so confused between the guilds. I really should join but which
one would be best for me. I hear about the UK Lace Guild and then
International Old Lacers...what is the difference...what to join...and what
is this program?

I can't advise you which to join as my answer would be somewhat biased!
(I'm on the Exec). I would suggest you look at the websites for both
organisations and make your decision from there as to which - or maybe
whether both - would be appropriate for you to join.
The Artefact of the Month Club is basically a means of The Lace Guild
sending a photo of one of the items in their museum collection by email
with those who wish to receive them each month, with a brief description
of the item concerned. Mostly these are of pieces of lace from the
collection, but some may be of lace tools and other items of lace
interest. You don't have to be a member of The Lace Guild to join the
Artefact of the Month Club - just send an email asking to join,
including your email address to [email protected] and you will be
added to the list. There is no charge for this service.
It is important that you don't forward these photos to anyone else - ask
them to register on their own behalf. This is because the Guild keeps a
record of the number of people viewing the artefacts and this is used as
evidence of interest for applications for funding, etc.
