Hello All! Now that's what we need--we know it works for the Marines!! Is
there a resource for lace chants? They would be a hoot to sing at a demo.
Regarding speed, are you using your thumb to *flick* your bobbins? Just
something I noticed when watching a speedy friend. Hard to describe, but I've
tried it & can report good results. I was surprised to hear that TC is faster
than CT although I didn't notice it in the Skansk workshop, being consumed with
other details. In Skansk, we worked TC to make for better tensioning. So now
I wonder whether using TC method would be better all round?? "It's not a race,
it's lace" is the raison d'etre for the annual Lace Race in Cortland, OH held
on Martin Luther King Day. Yes, there are lace races, games, prizes & general
silliness so if anyone is visiting Ohio in the dead of winter, this is the
place to be! I spent the day in Pittsburgh visiting a lacemaking friend who
recently suffered a stroke & has lost her eyesight. She h!
as been a member of Pittsburgh Lace Group for many years & made Slovenian lace
for her daughter's wedding dress, crown & veil. At 93 she's been the Energizer
Bunny! Prayers are welcome. Happy summer solstice to all. Sincerely, Susan
Hottle, Erie, PA
