The July issue of Lace (issue 143) was a few days late in being
distributed, we received our Exec copies (which are posted direct from
The Hollies, a few days ahead of the main UK mailing, so that we have
them in time to answer any queries) somewhere around 2nd August (I was
away at the time, but my husband reported on the post that arrived that
day as it was my birthday!) and my "subscription" copy arrived, I think,
last Saturday. I know that mail to the US and Canada can take up to ten
days to arrive, under normal postal conditions (ie no strikes
anywhere!).
Those of you who have received it will have noticed that we have changed
printer and distributor, and that the magazine is now in full colour.
The delay this time was down to an admin matter, which as we are now
aware of the way this company works won't be a problem in the future
(anything new invariably has some teething troubles!). I will email The
Hollies to make them aware of this (so ignore what I said in my email to
you, Sue) - when I was there on Friday there appeared only to be one UK
magazine not received so far - is that also correct?
The other point to note is that the July issue is the first issue of the
new membership year, and often it is its non-arrival that reminds people
that they haven't renewed their subscription. If you think this may be
the case, can you please contact The Hollies direct
([email protected]) to check? Membership rates were increased
slightly at this year's AGM (but not to do with the change to colour -
the magazine is in fact now slightly cheaper to produce!).
In the past it has gone the other way round, and the overseas issues
were received before the UK ones!
Thank you for your patience.
Can I also take this opportunity to ask any UK Guild members, who have
experience in demonstrating lace at Craft Fairs and Shows, to get in
touch with me, as I am now organising the stands at the various lace
days and shows around the UK and could do with some help manning them!
I'm also the contact if you want to invite the Guild to attend your
event.

I thought I'd received mine, but now can't see it anywhere - have the
Lace Society magazine which came this week.
But I didn't receive the message from Catherine Barley.

Malvary in Ottawa (Canada) where we have a nice day and I'm just off to
cut the grass before a day of rain forecast for tomorrow.
