Hi Malvary

Schappeseide is just a generic term for schappe silk - which is spun from
cocoons which have hatched and have not degummed rather than ordinary spun silk
which is spun from the broken bits and pieces left over after
reeled/filament/nett silk has been taken from the cocoons.

The only silk with a size of 120/2 that I've seen is Bart & Francis Shappe
which is labelled with a cotton count of 120/2 and the metric number 210/1 -
but that is very fine; 45 w/cm, which is not what I would expect to use for a
scarf.

So, I think that you will have to go back to basics and measure the dot spacing
of the pattern to determine how many wraps/cm she needs. Is it a torchon
pattern?

Brenda in north Kent where it was +29 degrees yesterday and predicted to be the
same today.
