Gillian Dye is another author, she wrote a little book called "Elizabethan Lace". There are a few books that give a panorama of historic laces; most of these contain some pre-1650 lace, but by no means all of them, and you'd have to go through the books carefully to find the few patterns or pictures they have. Since you're in the US, you might be able to borrow books from the IOLI library, but I don't know what they have. Hope this helps.
