Nathalie The photo does not have sufficient closeup detail. It needs to be twice as large. However, from everything I've read yak lace was made with wool, and this piece is definitely not wool -- no fuzziness. It may actually be a metallic lace, but insufficient detail does not help with certainty. From the style I would say early 20th century. I've seen metallic laces from the 1600s at the Art Institute of Chicago and the style in those was quite different. It is the gimp paths in particular which lack the flavor of the really old metallic laces. Lorelei Halley
