As you all know I am very new to lace & have had many lavers helping me. I would like to publication thank you all. Plus would like to tell you about a wonderful experience I just had in Yorkshire, England. We flew over for about 15 days with our dear friend Janet & her husband. While there Janet worked with me & then took me to her local lace group. They were wonderful & so helpful. My first experience was at a lace day in Pudsy where I met lavers from the region. Then a few days later was lace class. Francis, their teacher lent me her pillow, bobbins & thread. Then started me on my first ever snake. I not only was able to finish it, by did a second one as well!! Two finished projects in a row! Then between seeing sights in (I think 7 counties) the area (4 miles short of 1500 miles) we found time to attend my first ever lace fair. I was fortunate to meet Christine Springett who was kind enough to explain her new ornament design to me & signed a copy of the new ornament pricking & directions. What a kind person. I also met many many vendors (think here were 30 there) & most were very willing to take a few minutes to answer my questions which were probably pretty basic to them. Regardless, they were so helpful and patient. So thanks to Janet, Frances, their class, Christine & all the others I met at these events I had a super time & learned so much. To those of you who have never experienced any of these, it is well worth it to go wherever you are. Here in the States, I cannot ever forget Jo Ann & her patience of Job with my bumblings.
