Hello Dianne! What a wonderful surprise hearing from you. Last I heard from you was just before your move to the States. Had to retire from JE as I came down with Rhumatoid arthritis.......I could still do the stitchig but not twisting my threads, especially that long special thread for the fans. Maybe one of these days I'll have another go at it.
I didn't know you were into bobbin lace! I started back in1989 with the help of Doris Southard and her book until Doris put onto Ellinor Steingatzner (who is a beautiful lacemaker but doesn't like to teach) who put me onto Inga Ingram by 1991. Inga taught me at her home and then introduced me to the Toronto Lace Group where I met Chris my JE teacher. Small world, eh? So now I am associated with the Simcoe county Lace Group. I have tried to start a group where I live but most of the people here are strictly quilters. Shall keep trying. How long have you been into lace? The groups in BC are so very active. I read the Canadian Lacemakers Gazette and am amazed at the productivity of the groups in BC and Quebec. It is so great hearing from you. Have to scoot. Take care and happy times with your needles and bobbins, Margeret. - To unsubscribe send email to [email protected] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [email protected].
