Well, with many thanks to Ilske and Ann-Marie, I have found that my lovely picture of a mother teaching her daughter Lacemaking is by an English painter Samuel Barling Clarke painted around 1860.
I thought she looked "Victorian" and the bobbins were spangled, indicating an English background. These 2 kind ladies researched for me, and also found that Clarke painted another lacemaker, - this time an elderly lady, (Grandma?) with a child learning to read by her side.
