I would like to hear some feed back from Canadian Lacemakers about whether they consider the International Old Lacers to be their umbrella lace organization, and why or why not. Ideally, it would be best if you could post your opinion on Lace Round Table, identifying yourself, if not by name, then by characteristics such as whether you are a member, a Canadian, new member, old member, young person, whatever you think would put the remarks in context. To post on Lace Round Table Go to _www.internationaloldlacers.org_ (http://www.internationaloldlacers.org/) click on Lace Round Table. At the top of the page you will see: Welcome Guest. Please log in or register. It is probably best to long on using the universal log in provided, rather than waiting to be approved by the administrator. Type the generic user name ioliLRT and the password bobbinlace1. Then click on the entry title Future of IOLI and Name Change. There you can "reply" to my post, or click on "new topic" to post. If you have trouble posting to the site, you can send your remarks for the public forum to [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) and I will post them. Unless you specifically say that the remarks are not to be posted in their entirety to the Lace Round Table discussion site, I will post them there. To be on the safe side please identify any remarks made to me as ones that are confidential or for the public forum. The last thing I want to do is accidentally post a personal or confidential remark on a public forum. Sometimes people tell me things that are very illuminating, but if I am the only one who knows them, it doesn't really help in the process because it is the membership who has to decide the issue, not me. Feel free to offer any other thoughts you may have about the Future of the IOLI and name change. The subject has been expanding to include thoughts about the future of the group, especially its web presence. I urge everyone to go to the Lace Round Table and read the other comments posted there, so that we can discuss and form consensus. Devon Chairman of the Committee to Explore Name Change
