Yes, it's true that this lace doesn't have the typical elements of traditional Cantu, like the little connecting twists and flowers. But I called it Cantu for a couple of reasons:
It is typical of the modern lace for liturgical use that I saw in Cantu and the patterns I have been given from there, and it was presented to us by a delegation of ladies from Cantu as representing their home and their lace. The lace is mounted and framed so I can't examine the back. When I go to the office tomorrow, I'll read the signed "certificate of authenticity" on the back of the frame more carefully, and I'll report back on what I find. After all, nothing prevents a lacemaker in Cantu from making some other kind of lace! I'm delighted that the lace provoked so much interest! No one at work understands the gem we were given.
