I also knit....but I know what you mean about books being rediculously priced
when they are still in print. Point in fact. I am a knitter also ...and my
favorite Knitting designer is Alice Starmore. I bought many of her books back
when they were still being sold in the local knitting shop. So I have had them
for more than a decade (and I didn't spend of fortune for them), and being I
went to the UK and Ireland and saw the Celtic Artwork that I fell in love
with...I saw Alice's books and saw the Celtic  Knotwork in them...and the
Celtic themes to alot of her designs. I HAD to have them...since then I have
made some of her sweaters in her books...and last year they were being sold on
ebay for lots of money...like they were gold or something. No, I didn't part
with my books for I am still using mine. Some of the books are reprinted
now...so the price is more reasonable...but Alice gets to profit from the
books and not some dealer.Right now I am kintting a
sweater that is actually designed by her daughter Jade. It is called
Beadwork. ...This leads me to the Point in Fact...I saw "A Collector's Item"
written by Jade going for alot of money on Amazon...but you can still order
this book in Hardcover right from Scotland from their website
https://www.virtualyarns.com/ for less money ...and this includes shipping
from Scotland. I guess before you spend lots for a book...make sure it really
is still in print or not...really.
Second point of this email, I am really
excited that I will finally be able to meet Louise Colgan. I will be taking a
Milanese Lace class from her in May. I have been wanting to take her class for
along time since I love Milanese Lace. Milanese lace to me is like lace inside
of lace with all the decorative braids that are in Milanese Lace.  I will have
to go to Amherst which is an suburb of Buffalo, New York. I was wondering if
any of you have any pictures of your lace that you made from being in Louise's
class. If so can you send me the picture email or where to go and check it out
online. I would love to see what all her designs look like. I did ask Louise
but she said she doesn't have a website or blog or an online picture album. So
I am asking you all to send me pictures that you may have. I would love to
see...can you tell that I am excited???!!!
  Okay...back in my quiet room.

It's bad enough when a bood such as my own is out of print but
to ask for these ridiculous prices when abook is still currently available is
just apalling!
