I am so sorry to hear this very sad news. I, too, am one who has always enjoyed Betty Ann's postings over many years. Clay, please add my condolences to Clive and the family to those you have already received.

Betty Ann lived in Roanoke, VA with the love of her life, husband/boyfriend Clive. She learned to make lace in England when she was stationed there with the Navy. After returning to the US, Betty Ann continued to learn, and to teach others. She formed the Blue Ridge Lace Guild, and brought many enthusiastic lacemakers into the magic of lace. She was directly responsible for the formation of the Cardinal Lace Guild in Lynchburg, as she had taught the original members who later decided to form their own group closer to home. Betty Ann was known for her outgoing personality, her marvelous sense of humor, and her dedication to friends and family. She was also known for her voice - which had a distinct personality of its own, and was never mistaken for someone else!! Betty Ann had open heart surgery a month ago, and returned to her home on Good Friday. On Easter Sunday, she collapsed, and was rushed back to the hospital. She will be missed by all who loved her.
