Dear Lynn...
I'm very sorry you have taken offense to my message about your email
system. It was meant as a criticism of your email screening system
only... and not as a criticism of you or your input in all things
regarding lace - of which you have shown a deep love and knowledge worth
sharing.
However, I am forced to respond to you regarding this post which you
just sent me for the same reason I sent you the post!!! If I responded
to you directly (which I have attempted on several occasions), the
"nastygram" message from your service tells me I could not get past the
gate without authorization.
I was trying to tell you that if you had a less offensive service, (it's
your *service* which is offensive, not you!!!) you might have more give
and take from Arachne. This is not about you... it's about the service
you use. I value your contributions, but again, I am insulted by the
demand that I have to go through the equivalent of airport screening to
send you an email!!! I simply draw the line there. So I won't respond
to anything you write, on Arachne, regardless of how intriguing the
subject is. And while others haven't complained before... I suspect
their response will (continue) to be the same.

It appears that I rub you the wrong way. This is at least the second time
you let me know you were offended by something I have written or done. When no
one else did. I assure you it is not my intent. I have apologized and changed
the email. What more do you want? Or are you looking for more apologies? I
have no idea what messages are sent to you, but surely you realize they are
canned. One could, I suppose, interpret this as you have, but I doubt many
would. I prefer to read my arachne messages on my suspect email, which does
send back that suggestion that you request me to go to my suspect email. Most
people have no problem with it. The one or two, literally, who did not like it
are not overly missed, I assure you.
I am also rather surprised that you have chosen to send what can only be
characterized as a nastygram, with no punches pulled, to the group as a whole,
as well as to me as an individual. It has always seemed to me that criticism
should be given in private. Someone who seems to take offense so easily should
certainly be ready to have more consideration.
I cannot help what my mail system does to apostrophes and quotation marks. I
have tried to write without them, but it is difficult. I would mention that
regardless of the bizarre symbols, you were able to understand my post.
Thank you again for mentioning Martha Pullen. I will probably order from them.
