Hello Doris (I think - guessing by your e-mail!) and everyone Isn't it a special gift? Each member of OIDFA received a copy of "Lappets from Hermannsburg" in celebration of OIDFA's 30th anniversary. As with all the publications from the study groups, it is certainly thorough. The photographs and presentation are sumptuous. There are a dozen or so examples of black lace lappets from Hermannsburg (in Germany) in the Cluny/guipure style, with patterns and diagrams should we wish to make one for ourselves. For virtual lacemaking (armchair travel!) there is plenty of discussion and illustration on the technical details.
I do hope copies can be for sale to non-members. I notice that there are postal addresses for two contacts to purchase in Germany and Belgium. As to who to thank, a start would be to send a message to the representative in one's country. I think the contact in the US is Margaret Palen.
