I promised I would post a picture of my finished piece of lace now it is mounted. I worked it to raffle for funds for our local sjogrens support group and they are delighted with it. It is in the webshots folder Hurwitzend and should be the first picture you come too. I attempted to remove some of the many other pictures but got called away so will get back to that again later. It is not the best piece of technical lace but I didn't have time to experiment with other ideas I had so this is the result. Threads used are white gutteman silk and several pairs of a multi colour metalic thread I cant remember the name of and cant get into the cupboard at this moment to check it again.
I had a lovely time yesterday at the Poole Lace Day, there wasn't as many suppliers as some years back when I went but the quality of their goods was fabulous. I spent lots of money, <g>. Of course 4 pieces I bought need lace making to go inside them, so I have them in order of choice to get working, starting off with the pen insert. I can take that out and about where ever I go, which is lovely. I wanted a clock 4 years ago but couldn't get the information I needed, but bought a different one yesterday. DH and I spent quite a while after we got home hunting for a suitable pattern to go inside that. I also bought a lovely box which needs to be filled with some of the things in my cupboard so i can get rid of some things and make room for it to live there for now:-) I am hoping to re arrange a few things to allow it out for viewing after its all done, but for now there isn't room. We bought a pattern book and the 2013 calendar from the UK Lace Guild and there is some lovely patterns in those. We enjoyed chatting with various of the suppliers as well as quite a few of the ladies there working on their lace. Always an inspiration to see what other lacemakers are working on.
